Early in the AM this came across my desk from a fellow synth geeker. There is no official announcement other than this unconfirmed but interesting listing from Wikipedia Ensoniq.
"2010- Ensoniq announces its relaunch plans for 2011" it simply reads at the very end of the timeline chart. There is a working website at http://www.ensoniq.com/ I would bet a small wager that the name will be resurrected simply for "fresh blood" in new products. Other names have been rekindled from the 1970's. Some good and some bad. The line of amplifiers called Acoustic have been reborn and are reportedly very good and even better than their 70's counterparts.
My personal favorite from Ensoniq was the TS10 shown in the video above from Czechkeys. One could indulge in guilt free NewAge textures, Synthdom of pads, analog synths, otherworldlyness, of of a kind formant synthesis, but some cheesyness was aboard as well. Let's hope that Ensoniq's owner Creative Labs does it right and stays out of the product development and re-hires those who may still be around and willing to create awesome synthesizers again that have the uniqueness that was in the Ensoniq line of instruments.
