Waldorf recently got the word out that they have a new Vocoder Synthesizer called Lector. What is it with the James Bond themed products? Just wondering. AfroDjMac strikes again! The EM artist out of New York dropped us line about the latest freebie in his weekly Ableton Rack Downloads. We look at a lot of apps and plugins here on Synth Me. A lot has been done more than once, so its nice to see sound goodies coming around that unique. No denying, AfroDjMac is one generous soul who's not just making some new sounds like this week's free effect rack that features samples of Michael Jackson's voice. I know you're thinking already thinking this is corny, but check that video for something else.

EFU-1 is more than another delay plugin. Besides all the basic functions (host sync or milliseconds, digital/tape/analog sound, modulation) it features a distinctive freeze function; like some famous hardware delay units, the delay buffer can act like a sampler. Up to 4/1 bars of input signal can be recorded (or lets better say: frozen) and continously played back at a selectable speed - even reverse.

Over at Moog Music they have a great new video of Lap Steel Looping artist Bill Walker was in the Moog Sound Lab recently to treat the staff at Moog Music to some incredible live looping improvisation on the Moog Lap Steel.
