An algorithmic vision of perfection and precision. It’s Grade A class, Number One in its division. ValhallaRoom is a versatile, true stereo algorithmic reverb. It features several original reverberation algorithms (including the new Dark reverb modes: Dark Room, Dark Chamber, and Dark Space), and has been designed from the ground up to produce a wide range of natural reverberation sounds. Sounds range from tight ambiences and rooms, through traditional hall and plate sounds, all the way up to vast modulated spaces. The algorithm designs have been influenced by some of the “classic” room simulation boxes, as well as state of the art modern theory.

The Strange Agency, makers of interesting apps with a different take like Curtis, Slice, and Sound Scope Space among others, have announced a new looper app they're currently working on called Donut. Inspired by IBM tape loop machines circa 1960, the creators of Donut say that it can be thought of as a two dimensional record and playback looper. They're currently making the app more functional and fleshing out the UI. Check out the demo video below and get more info at http://thestrangeagency.com/...
UpTiLin is a pitched feedback delay. UpTiLin stands for Up Time Line. pTiLin allows to pitch the delayed signal in real time to achieve some funky effects ranging from classical stereo delay to cartoon-like, monsters and ghost effects. UpTiLin can also be a powerful tool for vocal processing when used as a vocal-doubler or with more subtle settings as a reverb, a vocoder-like.
July 7, 2011 - 15 years of VST: Just 15 offer: Steinberg is excited to celebrate the 15th anniversary of its industry-leading Virtual Studio Technology (VST). Developed by Karl „Charly“ Steinberg and first launched in 1996, VST has been nothing short of a revolution in the pro audio world. Since then, the open technology standard has been continuously refined to provide the basis for innovative virtual effects, instruments and workflow concepts.

REFLEX free is capable of generating huge spaces, short rooms, or chorus like modulations through a cascade of regenerating delays. It's sound is a mixture of straight stereo delays followed by a dense cloud of reflections. It achieves a huge and spacey wideness with a decent amount of the two modulation sources.

It's been a while since the last Effectology report from Bill Ruppert's excellent Effectology Series from Electro-Harmonix which demonstrates quite clearly how one can use anywhere between two to ten EHX pedals, more or less to get a variety of sounds and melodies. Volume 22 explores the realm of the Paranormal Guitar. Bill explores guitar effects in the amazing world of the unknown! Bill always does a fantastic job at creating impossible sounds using just a regular guitar and EHX effect pedals! No keyboards, samplers or midi pickups were used. The series is always quite effective at showing the user how things connect with clear examples. The series has no audio dialogue but opts for scrolling text explanations. In short the effects do the talking. As my colleague Jack Hertz would say eMjoy! For more information and pedal settings go to http://www.ehx.com/forums/vi...

MashTactic was initially designed as a mashup tool. It can separate different parts of a full mix, manipulating different frequencies and stereo location. Up to eight zones can be created that can then be panned, emphasised or cut out completely. It can be viewed as an eight band filter that exists in stereo ranges as well as frequency. Transients of varying length can be separated from constant sounds, which allows the user to manipulate the initial punch of percussion, either by emphasising or softening the attack, this can be done separately in any of the eight zones.

Physical Music's Time Freezer is an instrument and audio effect plugin that let's the user freeze audio. Physical Music recently announced the addition of the Audio Unit versions are now in Beta. Time Freezer is a full bundle made of a VST-Instrument,

DigiTech announced the introduction of its iPB-10 Programmable Pedalboard, the world’s first programmable pedalboard using the Apple® iPad. By harnessing the power of the iPad, the iPB-10 combines the simplicity of a pedalboard with the flexibility of a multi-effect system. DigiTech also announced the introduction of the iPB-Nexus app for iPad. This app gives guitar players drag and drop pedalboard design functionality. It also includes the My Tones library where users can store and organize presets. Also included is a real-time performance view where users can see each pedal and its settings.

Moogmusic has sent word about their unofficially announced new Moogerfooger 108M. The Clusterflux with it's cute little abbreviated wordplay on a popular term used today. very clever Moogmusic. It's been a while, says Niall Moody, but he's finally re-written his Pedalboard VST host. It's based on the JUCE audio plugin host code to avoid some of the trickier hosting caveats. Moody also said that even though he got everything setup in the host according to his preferences it was still a lot work to get everything the way he wanted.

Native Instruments and Softube present the first in a new range of professional studio effects. The VC 76, VC 2A and VC 160 are painstakingly accurate emulations of three of the most heavily-used compressors in studio history. Each has its own unmistakable sound, and thanks to added sidechaining and parallel compression, these Vintage Compressors actually improve on the originals.

The traditional way to build a multi-band compressor is to split the signal into the required number of bands (five in this case) using cross-over filters, then run each band- through a separate compressor before mixing them back together again. This approach tends to cause phase problems around the cross-over frequencies, requiring sophisticated filter designs to minimize these effects.

For over 100 years, music has been recorded on mechanical storage mediums, and for over 100 years such recordings have been plagued by the same problems: wow and flutter. Who isn't familiar wobbling and warbling, the droning and dragging by aging or defective storage? With Celemony's Capstan software there's a program capable of removing wow and flutter from musical recordings. Whether on tape, compact cassette, vinyl, or more. Capstan detects wow and flutter by analyzing the musical material itself, so the medium is of no relevance.

PianoQ is special designed EQ for Pianos. It can be simple and quick to achieve your ideal piano sound. Pimp up your loops ! The multi-band delay machine FDELAY is an exciting tool for sound design and loop manipulation in realtime. In contrast to the delay machines you’re used to FDELAY splits the frequency spectrum of the input signal into 27 bands and applies a separate delay unit to each band. The delay times can be synchronized to the host tempo generating nearly infinite rhythmical and sonic variations of the input signal.
